Spring, Aldine Westfield Rd

Mercer Botanic Gardens

180 acres of themed gardens, a cypress pond and wooded paths. Something blooming most of the year.

Permits: Run by Harris County Precinct 3, which has its own photography policy. I contact the gardens ahead of every session to follow it.

Tomball, Draper Rd

Kleb Woods Nature Preserve

Pine and oak forest, trails and a historic farmhouse. A quiet, rustic setting that is great for families and couples.

Burroughs Park

A lake loop and pine trails with lots of open shade. Easy for little kids.

Permits: I confirm current rules with the park before booking.

Towne Lake

Boardwalks, water and sunset reflections. A favorite for engagements in Cypress.

Permits: Towne Lake is a private community, so I check with management before scheduling a paid session.

Old Town Spring

Historic storefronts, porches and textures for a vintage, storybook feel. Decorated for the holidays most years.

Permits: Shops are private businesses, so I ask before using a storefront as a backdrop.

Christmas trees nearby

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm on Spring Cypress Road is the closest tree farm to Cypress. Photographers bringing clients need an appointment with the farm, which I arrange ahead of time.
